The Olympia returned to Las Vegas, the city in the Nevada desert. All of the hardbods and
their fans would be at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Hotel for the event. A huge pitfall for
the competition was having the female bodybuilding and fitness prejudgings running simultaneously.
As Genex9.com reported, fans had to
decide which prejudgings to attend, which were both held in different
conference hall rooms. Furthermore, this year only one title holder would be named Ms. Olympia.
In the final pose down for the overall Ms. Olympia title, Iris Kyle and Juliette Bergmann
fiercely competed for the win.
The lightweight women's class, which was extremely competitive consisted of ten women. Juliette
returned to the competition after Wayne DeMilia invited her to compete. At first, Bergmann was
not sure if she would compete, however, after much thought she gave the green light
to DeMilia.
With the formal invite from the top, Juliette did not have to qualify for the show.
Please keep in mind that the rules allow guest invites each year for men or women by DeMilia.
Genex9.com believes that
Juliette might have had some favourable friends in the judging panel. From my perspective,
Juliette was muscular, symmetrical and was a deserving Ms. Olympia winner. She has continued
staying in top-notch
condition even after her departure from professional bodybuilding competitions. Juliette guess poses
for the FIBO frequently in Europe. Iris Kyle did seem a
little surprised on stage after Bergmann was declared the overall winner. It is clear the judges are
looking for good aesthetic lines like Juliette Bergmann attained for the event.
Whatever may be the case, Bergmann was in excellent shape for the Ms. Olympia. Her performance
on stage was elegant and polished. In the future, Juliette needs to improve her stage presence
by beefing up the energy and music. Juliette edged out Andrulla with stellar symmetry
and a slightly better shoulder-to-waist ratio.
The lightweight class was my favourite. Dayana Cadeau placed third, and was slightly
off her Arnold Classic shape. Dayana demonstrated her trademark sexy girl next door
posing performance. Joanna Thomas, the lightweight winner at the Jan Tana's, showed
off her tree trunk back and massive symmetry for the audience. She lacked the cuts
and muscularity to place higher this time but she will have her day as she has
fantastic potential. Yaxeni Oriquen receives the
nod for the best sequence posing relative to her music. Yaxeni was a
definite crowd pleaser and was in the best shape of her career. Arguably, Yaxeni should
have placed in 2nd rather than 3rd.
