CBBF World Qualifier 2003 - Women's Bodybuilding

The Canadian World Qualifier is the national level show that qualifies athletes
to compete at the World Championships. These events are IOC tested, and
all top placing competitors are required to take a urine sample to prove
they're clean. The World Qualifier was held in Ancaster, Ontario in 2003.
It's located about one hour west of Toronto. Yours truly was there, and
actually did some interviews for the tape!
The event opens with the usual announcements, and so forth. The
first female bodybuilders on stage, are the Master Women. All of them are
in great shape, and Maria Mikola took second place in the master women's
class. She had great muscle maturity, and was less dialed from prior shows
with her
conditioning. Gillian Friesen won the Master's Women's class, and was
very ripped, and defined. She also won the women's heavyweight class.
In the lightweight women's class, Michelle Richards with her slim, and
ultra-ripped physique truly stood out from the crowd. Unfortunately, the
results were initially wrong placing Michelle third, the clerical error
was eventually resolved after some confusion. Michelle Richards bulging
biceps, and super eight-pack deserved first place! But, the real
competition would be in the middleweight class.
The middle weight class was a very competitive weight category as
always at the World Qualifier. Johanna Dejager and Emmanuela Pintus have
battled for first place over the past two years!! A new comer this year
was Natalie Veillette. Natalie was very well condition, but couldn't match
the greater conditioning and muscle mass of Johanna. Emmanuela Pintus
couldn't match the condition of Dejager, but made up for it with her
awesome posing performance, her massive triceps and superior symmetry! In
the end, Johanna prevailed and won the middleweight class and overall
titles.

- The middleweight class was stacked!!
- Johanna Dejager, Natalie Veillette and Emmanuela Pintus are rock solid.
- Emmanuela's routine is smokin' hot. Shake that thing girl!
Cons about the video
- I'd like to have seen this video shot on DVCAM, or some kind of
digital format.
- Some viewers may not like the IFBB Pro closer at the end of the
video.
Final Thoughts
New Visions Video produced a very nice competition video, showcasing the
best, natural female bodybuilders in Canada. The video is very well
edited, but just needs the little extra bump into the Digital Video realm.
Another beef, my interviews were very unprepared, and a little shaky at
best!! Oh well, I didn't know I'd have the opportunity to do some
interviews at the event.
