CBBF World Qualifier 2003 - Fitness and Figure

The Canadian World Qualifier is the national level show that qualifies athletes
to compete at the World Championships. These events are IOC tested, and
all top placing competitors are required to take a urine sample to prove
they're clean. The World Qualifier was held in Ancaster, Ontario in 2003.
It's located about one hour west of Toronto.
This tape focuses on the female fitness and body fit
competition. There were a lot of competitors in each of the classes.
The only class that was small, was the fitness tall category, which
had one competitor. The figure class was the largest, which has been
the trend for all competitions in Canada since it's introduction into
the IFBB about a year ago.
Julie St-Laurent won the figure short class, she was stunning in
her pink bikini with her curly long blonde hair. Kimberely Stefanski
proved to have the winning figure physique in the tall class. Although
both women have similar body shapes, Julie's was a little more
conditioned. Julie has an edge in the symmetry department too -- much
more V-Shape as compared to Kimberely. With these assets Julie
St-Laurent took the overall body fit title.
Moving onto the fitness class the real competition would prove to
be with Nathalie Tabouillet and Chantal
Dicaire. Tabouillet has won the World Qualifier in previous years,
and she would be to be a contender again this year. She won her short
class category. Chantal
Dicaire with her excellent fitness routine, and superb
conditioning won the medium fitness segment. Both women were the clear
contenders for the overall title. And the winner of the fitness
overall -- a surprised and excited Chantal
Dicaire !

Cons about the video
- The video should have had closer 3/4 body shots, instead of full
body.
- Panning one full competitor at a time would have given more detail
to the viewer.
Final Thoughts
Once again, New Visions produced another very clean, and professionally
edited physique video. My only wish would have been to have tighter framed
shots, but that's my personal preference. My interviews will improve next
time around with competitors, because I'll be prepared. All in all, it was
fun being apart of the production for the 2003 World Qualifier. Next year
should be even better with the new video equipment New Vision Videos plans
on using.
